Dr. Darleen Claire Wodzenski

Dr. Darleen Claire Wodzenski is an author, speaker, and interventionist whose life’s work sits at the meeting point of neuroscience, trauma-informed care, developmental psychology, and the healing power of language. Across three decades of practice, she has built a unified philosophy that begins with one quiet conviction: every human being is already whole.
As founder of Psychoneuroeducational Institute, LLC and Executive Director of Orchard Human Services, Inc., she offers direct services to individuals and families — clinical mental health counseling, special-education advocacy, parent training, and developmental intervention — alongside professional training, consultation, and continuing-education courses for fellow clinicians.
Her signature frameworks — Fluid Trauma®, Human Superpower®, and Wholly Creative Communication — teach that the brain moves toward what it sees, not away from what it fears. Her clinical specializations include complex psychoneuroeducational approaches to learning, developmental, emotional, and behavioral challenges; treatment for children and families affected by Disorders of Attachment (RAD and DSED); and intervention with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Meet our counseling team
Beth Wodzenski
Beth Wodzenski is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Associate Professional Counselor licensed by the State of Georgia. She works with diverse populations, with special attention to LGBTQIA+ individuals and those exploring Ethical Non-Monogamy and non-traditional relationships. With a background in early childhood care and development before entering clinical mental health, Beth brings a developmental lens into the counseling space — a safe, non-judgmental room where individuals can explore identity, relationships, career, philosophy, spirituality, and overall well-being.
In session, Beth takes a person-centered approach woven with practical modalities including Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Informed Care. She supports each person’s areas of growth while leveraging their strengths.
Beth also serves as Orchard’s Internship Coordinator, providing day-to-day guidance and support to counseling interns and practicum students. She is actively engaged in doctoral studies, research, and instruction while pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. See her role on the internship team ↓
Educational therapy & developmental responsiveness
Dr. Kathy A. Thomas
Dr. Thomas is an educational and child-development specialist who supports Orchard’s clients in specialized learning and developmental strategies. A former Associate Professor of Education, she currently teaches graduate Juvenile Justice courses for Nova Southeastern University and brings extensive direct-service experience with youth who have developmental disorders or are involved in the juvenile-justice system, alongside hands-on experience designing programs for youth at risk.
Her specialization is Therapeutic Educational Strategies — helping students experiencing learning challenges by searching for the root solution through careful analysis of each learner’s cognitive, executive function, and memory capacities.

Mentoring the next generation
Rashonda Clay-Douthit
Rashonda Clay-Douthit serves as Orchard’s Director of Internship. An experienced mental-health professional with 25 years of practice, she works with a wide range of concerns including relationship issues, parenting concerns, stress management, depression, anxiety, and life transitions.
Rashonda also served as Associate Director of Field Education at the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. She earned her B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore.

Beth Wodzenski
Working alongside Rashonda, Beth coordinates the day-to-day rhythm of Orchard’s internship program — scheduling, onboarding, competency tracking, and the ordinary steady support that helps a new clinician find their footing.
She is actively engaged in doctoral studies, research, and instruction while pursuing her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision — work that keeps her close to current scholarship and to the practice of teaching counselors, both of which she brings directly back to Orchard’s interns.

Dr. Steve J. Wodzenski
Dr. Steve Wodzenski is a holistic healthcare practitioner with certifications in physiotherapy and a background in trigger-point therapy and educational kinesiology. He carries a long history of philanthropic service — including board membership for a transitional housing program for men reentering society after incarceration — and is committed to supporting service members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
He provides technical support to the Orchard in these areas of practice:

Rev. Charlene C. Shockley, BA Div.
A Business Development Consultant, Real Estate Professional, and Ministerial Counselor who provides program and community-outreach support for Orchard. An avid advocate for women and children at risk of domestic violence and homelessness, she worked closely with Dr. Darleen in establishing Orchard as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Dr. Just serves as Educational Consultant and Programs Coordinator for Orchard, bringing a wealth of academic and program-development experience to the team.
LeTisha Bennett · “Teacher Tish”
A Professional Educator with advanced training in working alongside children and adults across a spectrum of learning and developmental presentations — from gifted and talented learners to those with Specific Learning Disabilities, ADD/ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Teacher Tish serves clients from age three through adulthood, in home-school, public-school, technical-school, and university settings.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Teaching and Education at Berry College and holds a professional Endorsement in Reading. As an accomplished artist and Certified Art Therapy Practitioner, she artfully weaves creative expression into the curriculum to promote brain-based learning, growth, and self-confidence.
