Who are our clients?
You do not need a diagnosis, a referral, or a good reason. Most people come because something has been hard for a while and they are tired of carrying it alone.
Children and teens
Struggling at school, withdrawn, or acting out in ways that do not look like them. Big feelings with no words yet. Anxiety, low mood, friendship trouble, and the aftermath of family change.
Adults and couples
Anxiety that will not turn off. Depression and exhaustion. Grief. Trauma and its aftereffects. Communication that keeps breaking down. Job loss, caregiving fatigue, and stress that has started showing up in your body.
Families and older adults
Parents and children finding their way back to each other. Blended households. Caregiving, retirement, memory changes, and grief in later life. We see clients from early childhood through their nineties.
We serve Georgia residents of every age, and we welcome people of every background, faith, race, ability, gender identity, and orientation.
Who are our Counseling Interns and Practicum Students?
Your Counseling Intern is a graduate student completing the supervised clinical training required for future licensure as a mental health provider. Our Internship and Practicum Students come from CACREP accredited counseling programs and related accredited programs in social work, marriage and family therapy, and psychology. They are monitored and supervised by a highly skilled team of clinical supervisors and coordinators to provide quality ethical care to address the unique needs of each client.
Here is the part people are surprised by: this is often the most closely watched care in the field.
Good counseling turns the picture until you can see it a different way. More than one person is helping you turn it.

Approved Clinical Supervisor
Licensed clinicians are responsible for your care
Clinical supervision is provided by Dr. Darleen Claire Wodzenski, PhD, LPC, NCC, ACS, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor, and the internship program is directed by Rashonda Clay-Douthit, MSW, LCSW. They carry professional responsibility for the counseling you receive.
Two clinical minds on your case, for one low fee
Your counselor meets one-on-one with a licensed supervisor every week, and again in a clinical team meeting. A licensed clinician thinks about your situation every seven days. Most people paying full price do not get that.
Supervision stays inside the clinical team
Your counselor discusses your work with their supervisor and clinical team. That is the only place it goes. You will receive this in writing before your first session.
How we match you with a counselor
Rather than asking you to choose from a wall of profiles, we do the matching. On your free consultation we listen to what is going on, what you have already tried, and what you need in a person.
Our skilled clinical supervisory team will match you with the right provider for your needs. If the match does not feel right after a session or two, tell us and we will change it. We honor your right to find a provider who feels comfortable and supportive to support your healing and growth.

Questions people ask before they book
Does couples or family counseling cost more?
No. It is $40 whether one person comes or four. Most practices charge more for couples and families, which is exactly why so many of them never get help. We would rather the whole family show up.
Do I have to prove my income?
No. The $40 fee applies to everyone. If it is more than you can manage, say so on the request form and we will place you at $20. Sponsored no-cost sessions are limited and are handled in a short conversation, not a paperwork process.
Why is this so much less than your other counseling fees?
Because you are seeing a counselor who is still in training rather than a fully licensed clinician. Orchard’s licensed clinicians work at standard private-practice rates and accept most major insurance plans. This program exists so that people who cannot reach those numbers still get real care, and so that new counselors get the supervised training their profession requires. Both things are true at once, and neither is a catch.
Will I see the same counselor every week?
Yes. You keep the same counselor and, when you want it, the same weekly time.
What happens when my counselor finishes their training year?
We tell you the end date at your very first session, so it is never a surprise. Beginning about eight weeks out, you and your counselor plan the ending together, and your supervisor personally hands you off to a new counselor here or to a provider in the community. We also do not assign new clients to a counselor who has fewer than two months of placement remaining, so nobody starts something that is about to end. Endings handled well are part of good counseling, not an interruption of it.
How many sessions will I need?
Nobody can tell you that honestly at the start, because it depends on you. What we do ask is that you give it six to eight sessions before deciding whether it is working. The first one or two are mostly getting to know each other. You and your counselor will decide together how often to meet and when you are ready to finish.
Do I have to live near Atlanta?
No. We meet by secure video and serve every county in Georgia. You do need to be physically located in Georgia at the time of your appointment.
What do I need for a video session?
A phone, tablet, or computer with a camera, an internet connection, and a private place to sit for an hour. A parked car counts. We send you a link and there is nothing to install.
Can my child be seen? Do both parents have to agree?
Children and teens are welcome. A parent or legal guardian must give written consent, and we will talk with you about how information is shared between you and your child. If custody is shared, we will ask about the custody order before the first session.
Are there evening or weekend appointments?
Yes. Availability changes as counselors join and finish, so the current openings are listed on each counselor’s card above.
Is there anything you cannot help with?
Yes, and we would rather tell you now than waste your time. This program is not the right setting for an active mental health emergency, court-ordered or custody evaluations, medication management, or care that needs more support than weekly outpatient sessions. If that is your situation, we will say so on our first call and point you toward the right place.
How soon can I start?
When we have an opening, most people have a first session within a week. When we are full we will tell you that plainly and give you a real date rather than leaving you waiting.
If you need help right now, do not wait for us
This program schedules appointments during business hours and is not an emergency service. If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or you are frightened by what is happening, reach someone now. These lines are free, confidential, and answered around the clock.
