Start here — the placement itself
Placement & program
Dr. Darleen Claire Wodzenski, PhD, LPC, NCC, ACS is Clinical
Director and Approved Clinical Supervisor, and holds clinical responsibility for the program. Rashonda Clay-Douthit, MSW, LCSW is Internship Director. Beth Wodzenski, MA CMHC, NCC, APC is Internship Coordinator and the first point
of contact for applicants, at B@orchardhumanservices.org. Your supervision agreement is sent to you by email once your placement is confirmed — it is not something you collect from this page. Look for Clinical Supervision Agreement — Georgia & Virginia, sent through Jotform Sign. You sign first, then it routes to your Orchard supervisor automatically. It covers everything the old memorandum of understanding did, so there is nothing else to sign.
On the HIPAA and FERPA module specifically: the two federal
trainings it links to are free but are hosted by outside agencies and take about two hours
combined. Start them early rather than the week you need the sign-off.

Staged learning with worksheets and a completion assessment. Work through these in
order within each module, and log your time per your supervision agreement. Some modules include
group processing and the opportunity to lead a psychoeducational processing group.
School collaboration — IEP, Section 504 & special education
Clinician reference
Orchard clinicians attend school meetings, write letters that enter education
records, and advise families navigating eligibility. Read these before your first meeting, and
read the HIPAA & FERPA module before you write anything that will be sent to a school.
Before you attend a school meeting: confirm you have a current
release naming the school and the purpose, and remember that what you say is likely to become part
of the education record. Stay inside your scope. Eligibility is a team determination, not a
clinical opinion you can supply.
Psychoeducation to use in session and share with clients
Client-facing
Written in plain language for clients, parents, and families. These can be worked
through in session, assigned between sessions, or sent home.
These pages are educational. They do not replace assessment, diagnosis, or medical
care, and nothing here should be used to guide changes to prescribed treatment.
Supervisees: discuss in supervision before assigning a resource to a client for
the first time.
For the clinician
Your own sustainability
Holding what clients tell you has a cost, and a placement year is when the habits
that either sustain or exhaust you get set. Use these, and bring what surfaces to supervision.
Sustaining yourself is part of the work, not a reward for finishing it.
