Two ways to receive counseling at Orchard

Orchard is both a counseling practice and a teaching practice. That means there are two routes to care, and one of them costs very little.

Route One

Professional Counseling Services

Sessions with Orchard’s licensed clinicians.

Paid by insurance or self-pay. Payment plans are available.

A partial scholarship program is available for clients who need it.

Route Two

Internship & Practicum Counseling Services

Sessions with graduate counseling interns, working under close clinical supervision. Available in Georgia only.

Low cost — and in some circumstances, no cost.

Every intern’s work is reviewed regularly by a licensed supervisor.

Counseling Services for Individuals, Couples & Families

A single chair facing calm turquoise water on a white sand beach, evoking the quiet, unhurried space of a counseling session

Counseling is available for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Sessions are held by secure televideo, from wherever you are most comfortable.

Care is shaped around how a person actually developed and what their nervous system learned to do to keep them safe — not around a label.

Brain Training & Neurofeedback

Training that builds attention, regulation, and executive capacity through direct feedback from the brain itself. Approaches include HEG (hemoencephalography) training, which works with blood flow and oxygenation in the prefrontal cortex.

Because the equipment travels home with the client — purchased outright or leased through Orchard — brain training fits naturally into televideo sessions and continues between them.

Brain Training →

Ket-O — Metabolic Health & the Brain

What the brain is fueled by shapes mood, energy, focus, and clarity. Ket-O is Orchard’s program exploring ketogenic metabolism and BHB (beta-hydroxybutyrate) as they relate to brain function and mental health.

Offered as education and counseling support that works alongside your physician or dietitian.

Nutrition for Mental Health →

Parent Training

Sessions to strengthen parent effectiveness, child behavior, and family resilience. We work cooperatively — naming the strengths parents already have and building out the areas that could be more effective.

Some sessions are with parents alone; others bring parents and children together. Available as a stand-alone service or within a larger counseling program.

Family Coaching

Bringing a whole family together — sometimes across several generations — to work as a team toward shared goals.

Useful when conflict or individual struggles are getting in the way of family life working well. Available as a stand-alone service or within a larger counseling program.

D*ALZ — Memory & Brain Health

Orchard’s program supporting brain health and wellbeing where memory, dementia, and Alzheimer’s are part of the picture.

Counseling for the person noticing changes in memory or thinking, and steady support for the spouses, adult children, and caregivers walking alongside them.

A reminder about cost

Counseling with a supervised graduate intern is available at low cost, and in some circumstances at no cost. A partial scholarship program is available for work with our licensed clinicians. Intern counseling is available in Georgia only, and availability varies by which interns are placed with us at any given time.

Please ask, rather than assuming the cost puts counseling out of reach. Email DrDarleen@orchardhumanservices.org and we will tell you what is open right now.

All services are delivered by televideo

Sessions take place through a secure video connection, from the comfort of your own home. There is no drive, no waiting room, and no need to arrange transportation or childcare around an appointment.

You will need a private space and an internet connection. Read more about tele-mental health.

Part Two

For Mental Health Professionals

Therapist office setting representing continuing education, internship, practicum, and clinical supervision at Orchard Human Services, Inc.

Preparing the next generation of counselors is part of Orchard’s mission, not a side activity. We offer three distinct pathways for professionals and professionals-in-training.

Pathway Two

Internship & Practicum

Placement for graduate students in counseling and therapy programs who need a practicum or internship site. Interns carry a supervised caseload and receive structured clinical training alongside it.

Orchard has hosted counselors-in-training since its founding as a nonprofit in 2012. The program serves two purposes at once: it builds skilled clinicians, and it makes counseling available to families at low or no cost.

Rashonda Clay-Douthit, MSW LCSW serves as Internship Director. Beth Wodzenski, MA CMHC, NCC, APC serves as Internship Coordinator and is the first point of contact for applicants.

Internship & Practicum →

Pathway Three

Clinical Supervision

Post-graduate supervision for associate-level counselors accruing hours toward independent licensure, provided by an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS).

Supervision at Orchard is developmental. The goal is a clinician who can think, not one who can follow a protocol.

Apply for internship, practicum, or supervision

One application covers all three pathways. Tell us which you are seeking and we will follow up.

How to begin

1

Complete the forms

The online client forms are the fastest route to a first appointment. Choose the adult set or the set for a client under 18.

2

We match you with a clinician

Matching considers your state of residence, what you are seeking, and clinician availability.

3

Your first session

You receive a secure televideo link. Find a private space, and we begin wherever you would like to begin.

Questions before you start

Email DrDarleen@orchardhumanservices.org. A short note is enough.

Please do not include detailed health information in an email, as it is not a secure channel.

Common questions

Which states do you serve?

Dr. Darleen Claire Wodzenski is licensed in Florida, Georgia, and Virginia. Beth Wodzenski is licensed in Georgia. Because counseling licensure is state-based, you must be located in a state where your clinician is licensed at the time of your session.

Are sessions in person or online?

All counseling is delivered by secure televideo. You will need a private space and an internet connection. There is no drive, no waiting room, and no need to arrange transportation or childcare around an appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept many insurance plans, and self-pay and payment plans are available. A partial scholarship program exists for work with our licensed clinicians, and counseling with a supervised graduate intern is offered in Georgia at low cost and in some circumstances at no cost.

What age can a child begin to see a counselor?

We work across the lifespan, from infancy through the mature years. With very young children the focus is developmental — supporting healthy attachment and a strong parent-child bond — and parents are part of the work rather than waiting outside it.

Do you offer couples or relationship counseling?

Yes, for couples married and unmarried. Relationship satisfaction is a real component of health, not a separate topic from it.

Do you work with children who have emotional or behavioral problems?

Yes, including developmental and mental health challenges. Services can extend to siblings, parents, and other family members, because a plan that includes the people around a child tends to hold better than one that does not.

Do clients lie on a couch, the way they do in the movies?

No. Sessions are held by video, so you choose your own seat — a chair, a sofa, the floor, wherever you settle best. Comfort helps the work; the furniture is up to you.
