Dr. Darleen Claire Wodzenski

Dr. Darleen helps children, families, and the professionals who serve them work through trauma, stress, and suffering — and she brings play and joy to that very serious work. Bongo the fluffy yellow puppet joins sessions with younger children, and teens and adults get their own brand of whimsy.

Her path began at home, as a parent and non-denominational pastoral counselor, in deep study of the works of Dr. T. Berry Brazelton, Mr. Fred Rogers, and Dr. John Bradshaw. Long before any formal credential, she was already discovering that the words we give children become the voice they carry inside for a lifetime.

That insight carried her into the special education classroom, and then into clinical mental health counseling and doctoral study of an integrated psychoneuroeducational paradigm for human healing, growth, and development. Running alongside it has been a lifelong inquiry into the wisdom of the body — Educational Kinesiology and Brain Gym, Health Kinesiology, Naturopathy, Yoga, and Qi Gong. Long before somatic work became a clinical buzzword, Dr. Darleen understood that healing begins in the body, and that every word we speak lands there first.

Today she provides direct services to individuals and families — counseling, special education advocacy and consulting, parent training, psychoeducational and child development intervention — alongside professional training for educators, mental health professionals, and human services and juvenile justice staff. She is the author of Dead Children Can’t Read — Classrooms of Compassion and Marmalade Jam, and the creator of the Fluid Trauma™ and Human Superpower™ healing paradigms.
